Exploring Krypton: A Detailed Journey Into Seg’s World: Part 8 – What We Want To See In Season 2

In this final part, we’ll look at what we want to see in Season 2. By the time this has been posted, some of the points in this list have already happened in the first episode. For part 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, and 7.

What We Want To See In Season 2

There are so many things we want to see. From family reunions to origin stories, Season 2 has us excited for more of Seg’s adventures.

A Zod Family Reunion… Of Sorts

What’s a show about family without some kind of reunion? We’d love to see the Zods reunited. Since Lyta was forced to graze her mother, it would be great to have her apologise. It would also be cool to see Jayna introduce her brother to his niece and great-nephew.

We might even learn more about their family tree. Perhaps unseen or mentioned family members come out of the woodwork. We might even learn the fate of Vidar and Jayna’s father.

An Adventure On Rann

Since Sardath and Alanna were heard talking to Adam about the Zeta Beam he stole, it would be awesome to see an adventure on Rann where Adam has to run for his life, for example. That would be cool and it would be even cooler to see him physically talking to Sardath and Alanna. We wanna see him flirt with Alanna too.

A Look Inside The Phantom Zone

We want a full-fledged tour of the Phantom Zone. According to the trailers, we might get our wish. When we meet up with Seg, he’s still in the dimension beyond time and space. We’ll get to see the alternate version of Val’s Fortress of Solitude.

According to what’s appeared so far, there’s a lot of trees and forestry in the Phantom Zone. There’s got to be a load of space in the place, right?

Lobo’s Origin Story

Not long after the Season 1 finale, it was revealed the big bad of Season 2 would be the bounty hunter, Lobo. We know we meet him in the Phantom Zone but we don’t know anything else. We wouldn’t be surprised if this season shows a backstory for the villain. He did kill his entire species after all.

Seg and Adam Versus Lobo

The second trailer reveals Adam somehow gets into the Phantom Zone and finds Seg. What they don’t expect is to run into any kind of threat expect maybe Brainiac. Adam gets blown off his feet by a scary looking dude who introduces himself as Lobo. The look on Seg’s face equals P-R-I-C-E-L-E-S-S!

Wouldn’t it be something if Seg and Adam actually got to fight Lobo and barely got away? A fight like this would make the show’s rating spike. Going up against a seemingly unkillable bounty hunter would be the perfect way for Seg and Adam to escape his clutches.

Edit: Turns out they’re on Brainiac’s homeworld, Colu. Not the Phantom Zone.

Hawkwoman

When the series was announced it was assumed Hawkwoman would appear because she was mentioned in the press release. However, as production progressed, the idea of having her introduced in the first season was abandoned as she didn’t fit the storyline. We know Flamebird and Nightwing will appear this season so why couldn’t they bring in Hawkwoman while they’re at it?

More On Rann

We need to see some kind of adventure on Rann and to escape Krypton for a bit. However, the adventure doesn’t have to include Adam, Seg or any of the main characters. What if Sardath and Alanna actually did show up and they headed an episode while the main cast only played a small role. It could fill in the gaps of how Adam stole the Zeta Beam and how they reacted to having their tech stolen from them.

A Glimpse At Superman

The show is about the question of what life would be like if Superman wasn’t alive. Krypton does a great job at setting up that logic. We’ve seen his cape and gotten references to him, but nothing else. It’s just as well too because we don’t need him to overshadow his grandfather.

However, it wouldn’t hurt to see Kal-El at least once. It could give Seg something to focus on and to realise Kal’s contribution to their family is vital for their survival.

Seg’s Return From The Phantom Zone

We know Seg will return from the Phantom Zone. Question is how this will play out. Currently we know he’ll have to fight hs way out as he confronts Brainiac and Lobo.

Whatever happens, we’re going to see a return of Seg no matter how much the timeline changes. We’re in for a ride once he returns to Kandor. From the trailer, we see him fight his own son and get put on his butt. Oh, and the fact that he has to stare down Lobo, Doomsday, Brainiac and playing the role of dad to a newborn is going to change his life… literally.

Seg Chooses Between Lyta And Nyssa

One plot we hope is resolved in Season 2 is the love triangle between Lyta, Seg, and Nyssa. Seg is the father of both their sons and yet, they want him. Seg’s in love with one of them and appears to be developing feelings for the other. Talk about a mess!

As much as its fun to see two women fighting over a guy, it might be best for them to have him choose one of them so the story doesn’t drag on. As far the triangle goes, he mightn’t choose either of them.

Lyta betrayed him more than once while Nyssa schemed to get him on side. Yeah, Nyssa’s father was the main instigator, but Nyssa played a very similar role before she turned over a new leaf… literally. Though, we see her change over the first season especially when she learns Lyta is innocent after her father frames the younger Zod for treason because the Voice of Rao needed someone to be a scapegoat.

The Birth Of Cor-Vex

At the beginning of the series, Seg is bound to Nyssa and they concieve a son, Cor-Vex. Until Season 2, Cor will be in utero, but its unknown if we’ll get to see Cor’s birth. We’d like to see his birth happen even if Seg can’t be there to the birth of his first child.

We know Cor will be born as there’s footage in the first featurette of Nyssa holding a newborn baby. Whether this takes place before or after Seg gets out of the Phantom Zone is unknown. We’ll just have to wait and see.

Flamebird And Nightwing (no, NOT that Nightwing!)

Other than Lobo, we’ll get the first live-action appearance of Flamebird and Nightwing. And no… we’re not talking about Dick Grayson’s Nightwing persona. We’re talking about the lesser-known Nightwing, a Kryptonian superhero that would go on and inspire Dick after Superman told him a story.

However, we’re not sure if there’s been casting for the characters because their roles in the show are currently under wraps. It could be a case of what happened with Hawk Woman where they said they were going to introduce her but when the plot for the first season changed, they couldn’t find a way to include her.

A Mention of The Justice League

You can’t have a story about the House of El without at least one reference to the Justice League. The only way we could get a reference to the JL is if Adam mentions it.

However, if Superman or another member of the Justice League appears, it would be a direct reference. How cool and awesome would that be?
